🕵️‍♂️ Counterfeiting has serious consequences

Contrary to popular belief, counterfeiting is not a minor or marginal issue. Behind these copies are often organized networks, illegal factories, and real health risks for consumers.

In China, for example, a fake Nike manufacturing ring was dismantled in 2018. Over 500,000 pairs were seized, and arrests were made. The products were shipped to Europe and the U.S. using falsified customs documents.

Worse: some counterfeits endanger health. In 2019, fake Pokémon plush toys caused allergic reactions in children. Made with no safety controls, they contained health-threatening components!

In the cosmetics world, in Los Angeles (2017), police seized thousands of counterfeit makeup items: fake MAC, Urban Decay, Kylie Cosmetics… Lab tests showed traces of mercury, lead, and even fecal bacteria.

🎯 So what about Fanbrush®?

Some products, mostly from China, are misusing our brand name on ecommerce sites, search engines, or social media. Some even imitate our concept and copy the protected product shape. These are not genuine Fanbrush® products.

🏷️ Fanbrush® is not a generic name

Fanbrush® is sometimes wrongly used to refer to any multicolor fan makeup stick. Fanbrush® is a registered trademark since 2006, protected in many countries. Fanbrush® is the first multiline makeup stick in the world. The term Fanbrush should only refer to the authentic product designed, manufactured, and tested in France. The brand is written Fanbrush or FANBRUSH (not FanBrush).

🏭 Responsible manufacturing

The makeup is formulated, tested, and manufactured in France, following the strictest European standards. Packaging and labels are selected for recyclability or zero waste and sourced in France. The product packaging is made in Europe.

No animal testing has been conducted—neither by the manufacturer nor third parties—at any stage.

Fanbrush® also has a very low carbon footprint. According to our estimates, CO₂ emissions (EXW France) are under 0.1 kg per product, less than a standard pot of yogurt made for local distribution.

The formulas are free from parabens, alcohol, MIT, and preservatives. In compliance with REACH regulations, Fanbrush® and its components contain no Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) listed on the official ECHA site: echa.europa.eu/candidate-list-table, and of course no banned ingredients.

⚠️ Counterfeits: the real risks

We tested some Chinese manufacturers by urgently ordering Fanbrush® copies. They offered to make “compliance certificates” in less than 2 weeks.

This turnaround is clearly incompatible with serious validation, as stability tests alone take at least 3 months. A complete regulatory cosmetic file including lab tests, toxicological reports, and certifications is simply impossible in such a short time.

This can lead to severe consequences—not only for consumers.

Fanbrush® exists in over 1000 references, from 2 to 6 stripes in any color combination—flags, events, or custom creations.

Our product includes discreet security marks to verify authenticity. But you can also spot a genuine Fanbrush® using several visual indicators shown below. These are the current official formats.
